I’ve been tagged by Brittany at Learning about life with greys. I should mention, that while I have talents in other areas, following the rules is not one of them. It isn’t that I try to be difficult. I just am. Maybe that is why I enjoy rescue dogs?

So the instructions are to open the sixth folder and post the sixth photo, correct?

That would be this photo capture of Annie running at the dog park in early December. I especially like the flexation in that front pastern. Look at that sucker nearly flat against the ground!

There are more photos in this series on flickr.

But that is the 6th photo in my 6th file on my hard drive. This is the 6th photo in my 6th file on my external hard drive:

This was taken last year at my open studio event. The box in the foreground? One of my favorites. I sold it at Dewey Beach. She assured me it was going to a good home. I love the glaze!

If I go 6 folders down, and choose the 6th photo I get this one. Blast from the past!

If I remember correctly, I only made 2 or 3 of these photo frames. Made from polymer clay about 1997-1998?

These were taken with my first digital camera — a Kodak with 1 megapixel. I was *so* excited about this camera. It must be stuck in a drawer now? Technology…

The 6th image in 6 folders down is this of 2 Greyhounds, Hewly Harlot and Hewly Hartling.

After that is this photo of Winchester.

Greyhound : Winchester

This is my most viewed photo on Flickr. Someday I’ll learn how to photoshop the weed-eater of of the photo. Don’t you love his goofy face? I do.

I cannot believe that I allowed myself to be photographed in this situation-

Standing next to a car

Wearing a bikini.

What was I thinking?

On a positive note, it’s nice to have proof of my once skinny thighs…

This meme is floating around. While I usually don’t play, this one seemed sort of… well, something.

So the rules are: if you’ve already done the thing it needs to be in bold. Things I want to do are italicized and things I haven’t done/don’t want to do are in plain font.

You know about ted.com? Probably everybody does, but I finally clicked a link in a email from a friend and… wowweee!!!

Having a ball playing the TED talks on my laptop as I work in the studio.

Here’s a cool video to get started:

In between studio time, working at the library and tending to bored dogs, I’ve been adding my personal library to LibraryThing.com.

It is kind of fun in an “I’m such a dork and like to be super organized way”. I’ve been adding a few books in the cold and dark evenings.

I’m surprised at how many books I have (384), and how many I have left to add. And how many lame-o dog books I’ve read. Wow. Some are instruction manuals on how to beat your dog. Makes you sick. How we have tortured these creatures in the name of precision obedience. I’m glad training and behavior studies have progressed past the Koehler method and others.

Here’s a peek at what I’ve got listed so far….

The bully stick stash is empty. Every rug in the house is half on the floor, half twisted up onto the wall. The puppies are bored.

Not much for a young Greyhound to do in feels like -40 degree weather. (Actual temps are somewhere around 20 below zero…)

On another note, I think I messed up this blog by attempting to update to WordPress 2.7.

We are all tired of being cooped up inside.

Okay so usually when I tinker with the blog roll (located on the side of this page) I fail to mention it. I figure the links are there — if one is interested in the blogs I consistently enjoy, the blog roll is there and it doesn’t need it’s own press.

I’m going to make an exception to my “rule.”

gapingvoid.com

This sucker is my favorite creativity blog out there. Favorite posts are here, here, and here. And there are more where those came from…

This is the blog I read when I feel like I’m tapped. Done. Crispy burnt. When the negative ideas seem to be much more prominent than positive ones.

Good stuff here.

The Greyhounds in Art exhibition also has a silent auction to raise money for canine cancer research. Here’s the piece I’ve donated for this:

Today is one of the days that I spend half in the library, half in the studio. I’ll spare you from the “laundry list” and instead I’ll post a few photos.

Most of the boxes are glazed — tiles are remaining. I’m hoping to glaze fire again this week and these puppies are going to be in the kiln!

Speaking of glaze firings… this is a shot of the kiln this morning right before I closed the lid. I promise photos tomorrow afternoon of the results.

I’ll close this morning’s post with a photo of the dogs. Aren’t the puppies getting big?! I can’t believe how fast they are growing. Winchester (the brindle dog in the center) is a big dog - 31.5″ at the shoulder and 95 pounds. How big is Sage going to get? I think Annie will stay petite.

Off to the library. Looks like today is going to be warm again (87 degrees yesterday!) A little bit of wind… This is North Dakota.
