Working on the site today. Except technical difficulties….
Pretty cool stuff happens. Like when renowned artist/painter/whippet fancier, Yvonne Sovereign, asked to use MY greyhounds as models for a few of her oil paintings!
Oh my Dog!

WOW! Awesome! Wonderful! Hurray! I think she’s capture both Greyhounds fabulously!
You must see Yvonne’s website and read her artist’s blog.
This is a camera equipment post. Two questions.
I want a new tripod. I use it for photographing artwork in the studio — I’m not packing it into the mountains. I want it to be easily adjustable with a level at all possible. I occasionally use a macro lens when photographing work and don’t want the tripod going all wonky on me. Under $100 please. What tripod should I buy?
Next, should I buy a camera bag? Right now I’m using a white plastic grocery sack.
Here’s why I’m tempted — I hate carrying my camera out to the dog park with the wet, dirty dogs. I’m afraid I’m going to whack the camera lens on stuff. So a bag seems like the way to go. But I don’t want to buy another thing that I’m not going to actually use. What is the best bag for a Canon Rebel XSi?
If you’re a friend with me on facebook you already know this — due to some fancy setting that I don’t fully understand, the posts from this blog end up on my facebook profile. That means…yes!… that the last two months of posts *aren’t* gone! There they are on facebook.
Oh my golly.
I’m not sure why I’m so concerned about those last two months of posts, but I was feeling pretty bad that they were gone. Silly, I know. And yes, Robin, one can backup their blog… the last time I did it was November 7th….
So anyway. I’m happy. And it is 34 degrees outside right now. And the sun is shining. Go Saturday!
PS- Despite my sometimes anti-social aspects of my personality I like friends. Especially facebook friends.
I tend to approach problems in the Thomas Edision way
I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. ~ Thomas A. Edison
I think I’ve found nearly that while trying to fix this blog. And after the smoke cleared I discovered the simple solution.
Goodbye November and December blog posts and comments. I’ll miss you…
Give me a few days… I’ll get the site back to normal (whatever that is!)
I’ve been tagged by Brittany at Learning about life with greys. I should mention, that while I have talents in other areas, following the rules is not one of them. It isn’t that I try to be difficult. I just am. Maybe that is why I enjoy rescue dogs?
So the instructions are to open the sixth folder and post the sixth photo, correct?
That would be this photo capture of Annie running at the dog park in early December. I especially like the flexation in that front pastern. Look at that sucker nearly flat against the ground!
There are more photos in this series on flickr.
But that is the 6th photo in my 6th file on my hard drive. This is the 6th photo in my 6th file on my external hard drive:
These were taken with my first digital camera — a Kodak with 1 megapixel. I was *so* excited about this camera. It must be stuck in a drawer now? Technology…
After that is this photo of Winchester.
This is my most viewed photo on Flickr. Someday I’ll learn how to photoshop the weed-eater of of the photo. Don’t you love his goofy face? I do.
This meme is floating around. While I usually don’t play, this one seemed sort of… well, something.
So the rules are: if you’ve already done the thing it needs to be in bold. Things I want to do are italicized and things I haven’t done/don’t want to do are in plain font.

You know about ted.com? Probably everybody does, but I finally clicked a link in a email from a friend and… wowweee!!!
Having a ball playing the TED talks on my laptop as I work in the studio.
Here’s a cool video to get started:
Three days cooped up in the house is too much for Sage. Today we braved the cold temps and headed to the dog park.
You’d think -4 degrees is too cold for a greyhound — very little body fat and even less hair. Not so much.
He was a maniac. He ran with the poodle, then with Winchester. Every time he ran near a human, he’d bounce past them — sailing past at their shoulder height. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Attempt to steal gloves, scarves, whatever he could. Then RUN….
It is so hard to try to teach him manners when I’m laughing so hard I nearly fall over.
Miscellaneous is one of my favorite words. Also lascivious. And Pterodactyl. The problem with Pterodactyl is that it doesn’t come up much in conversation.
I have to go in front of the Commissioners of our County and ask for money for the library today. Everyone means well, but still this is not something that I relish. The clock is ticking – 3:50 PM today.
One thing that you’ll never want to do is shoot yourself. Just trust me on this. Don’t do it. It is fascinating on the wound care front — I’m not squeamish about blood and stuff — but otherwise ick. Looks like plenty of pain involved too.
It is amazing how -8 degrees Fahrenheit feels warm compared to -20 degrees. Everything is relative?
