Giving away – December 2010 edition

Posted on Dec 19, 2010 in The Other Stuff

Because you guys so darn awesome with all your positive and helpful comments about my work. 1191 Fans on the Facebook! How cool!

Because even though the sun set at 4:07pm this afternoon, the rest of the day was bright and sunny and beautiful….

Because the Greyhounds slurped up their green tripe with smiles on their faces (almost!) and even though the stuff is so smelly and gross, I was happy to feed it because it makes them so happy….

A little giveaway.

Greyhound tile Trio design by Sarah Regan Snavely

One of my 6″ x 9″ Greyhound trio tiles in antique parchment glaze. Add it to your Greyhound art collection. Use it as a trivet in the kitchen. Hang it on the wall or grout and frame it.

My favorite time of year is late spring /early summer. The dogs and I walk every single day and they love hanging out in the yard. This next spring will be bittersweet, because I have lost 2 dogs this year and they both loved to lay in the sun. I will miss seeing them stretched out, absorbing the warmth.

Each day is a blessing which makes it a favorite. Live each as it deserves to be lived.

My favorite time of the year is NOW. Ask me tomorrow and my answer will be the same: NOW. Ask me in April, yeap, it will still be NOW.

I”m trying very hard to LEARN to “live in the moment” like our greyhound babies do. I want to be able to appreciate those little “gifts” like sitting in the sun (even for 5 minutes), hearing a bird sing, smelling a sweet rose or seeing a beautiful piece of artwork or sculpture.

Life is a gift and I want to open ALL of the packages!!!!

My favorite time of the year is the fall.

Summer”s heat is gone and the leaves start to turn beautiful colors. The mountains come alive in vivid orange, yellows and red.

The nights start getting cooler and its so much more enjoyable for the hounds to run and act silly out in the yard.

Spring is my favorite time of year with all the new growth of grass, trees & flowers poking through the snow that hangs on. The greyhounds get exited to see bunnies on our walks and the days start getting longer. Birds sing and the future looks bright.

Summer thru fall .. our kids love to sun themselves in the back yard and chase the squirrels and/or chipmunks who have a real nack for taunting the boys,
Boo, Hugo and especially Bandit. It”s Bandit who searches each tree branch to see if a squirrel is present.

The best time of year for me is definitly fall.It contains my wedding anniversary and all of hounds” birthdays, so I get to celebrate all my favorite people. Plus, the weather is the best for walking dogs, bicycling, hiking and doing all the outdoor things I enjoy so much.

My absolute favorite time of year is Halloween. I think it”s awesome because you can become something you”re not and everyone tends to have a good time doing it. It”s a great time of year with my favorite decorations and artwork and I absolutely adore the adorable costumes people put their kids and hounds in. I think there”s nothing more awesome than seeing a kid dressed up like his or her hero especially during a time when they seem to grow up too fast.

Winter is my favorite time of year. I do a bit of hiking with my two dogs and I love the quiet of the woods in the winter. Sometimes I feel so alone with nature when hiking in the winter. And I love that the bones of the landscape are exposed during the winter. Looking at all the rocks and the shapes of the trees is another bonus of winter.

My favorite time of the year is late Sept. thru October. I can celebrate the birthday”s of my 3 red Irish Grey”s (their littermates). Weather is warm, leaves are turning and it”s time for vacation in Dewey Beach to see and be immerszed in all things–GREYHOUND !! Last chance to “run wild” with the hounds in the sand & surf before the snowy Michigan winter arrives.

My favorite time of year is Autumn- it”s when the colors of the land come alive in vibrant fire oranges, berry reds, golden yellows and earthy brown and green tones, it”s when I married my best friend, it”s when I feel like our home is most homey, and our favorite Holiday is approaching (Thanksgiving). I feel most inspired and creative in the Fall. It”s the season I come alive!

My favorite season is and has always been autumn. The cool, crisp days and the amazing colors are inspiration and comforting at the same time. We get to cherish long evening walks with our greyhounds while looking forward to multiple birthday celebrations, Halloween get togethers, Thanksgiving dinners spent with family & friends and our wedding anniversary. The fall holds so many special memories for my wife and for me that even when things seem to be at their worst, we know that the leaves will once again turn colors and make everything just a little bit better……
