I must be a pig. How else does every surface in the studio fill with stuff?
This is not an exaggeration. It’s like an Art Bomb blew up in here.
There are sculptures (and water jugs) stacked on kilns because…
the shelves are full with more sculptures, tiles and other stuff.
See, every surface. Boxes of clay. Sculptures in progress. And stuff.
Even the Greyhounds know this is a horrible mess.
Really now. Even the slab roller? (See these bags of left-over clay under the slab roller? My most vivid fantasy is that these bags disappear. But one can’t throw away clay! So there they sit, until I use them for small pieces…)
Sage does his best to help. Sorry, Buddy. We’re going to need more thumbs for this job.

Sarah – your studio is Horizontally Surface Challenged (HSC) just like mine. I’ve been told that’s the sign of a busy and creative mind.
I hope so. I call it “pile-it” disease. Must take control today!
Love to see your studio and so many works in process. And, isn’t “messy” a sign of a creative mind?
Sarah, I like to think that “messy” and “creative” go hand in hand. My art studio is always messy. I much prefer to create than to clean…
I really think you should let Sage help you more. Still – you are a busy person…multi-tasking.
My office is a mess. I clean it in spurts, but somehow it goes back to a natural state of messy. At least your greys are helping to clean up. Mine just lay on their dog beds in the office and leave the cleaning to me.
I think any creative mind must make a mess to make something beautiful!
