Ummm… Good!

No I’m not making soup. Gray soup? Ugh. It’s clay. All dried out and unworkable drenched in water. It is step one of a process that is easily procrastinated – reconditioning clay. This is actual work. I’ll show you more of the process as I get geared up to undertake this one.

Otherwise the Gettysburg sculpture now hollow.

Off with your head! See how every piece starts solid? I wouldn’t HAVE to do it this way, but the end result is way cooler if I do. The sculptures just look better.

When I’ve reached the desired thickness (about 3/8″) then I smooth the insides all nice and even too.

Then fit the hollowed piece onto the non-hollowed piece to make sure they fit. Then reattach.

Onto the next piece.
